The Norwegian Way · Seasonal home

A koselig home: seasonal decorating with purpose
When the seasons change, I want my home to feel warm and welcoming. But I still want to be able to set down my coffee without moving twelve little pumpkins first.
There’s a Norwegian word I love: koselig. It’s that warm, cozy feeling you get when a room feels welcoming. My version is simple: choose things that make the house feel good and work for the people living in it.
That’s how I think about The Norwegian Way when I decorate. I’m not trying to fill every surface. I’m making room for a few cozy textures, useful pieces, and easy everyday cleaning.
Start with texture, then let the room breathe
For fall, I switch out blankets and floral arrangements for deeper, warmer colors. Sometimes one dark cranberry throw pillow on the couch is enough to change the mood of the whole room. And the best part? It’s a pillow we’ll actually use.
I like a soft blanket, a little plaid, greenery, and a few patterns that play nicely together. Then I leave some space open. A clear counter or coffee table makes the room feel calmer, and it’s easier to wipe down when real life happens.

Let the useful things be part of the look
A pretty bath towel or hand towel can add seasonal color to a bathroom without adding another object to dust. I love a Forever Bottle foaming hand wash dispenser by the sink, too. It belongs there, it gets used, and it looks nice.
In a guest bath, a Counter Cloth Box can hold seasonal-colored Counter Cloths for quick touch-ups. Or I might fill it with fresh Body & Face Cloths for guests to use. I keep those cloths for their intended jobs, so no one has to guess what’s for the counter and what’s for their face.
I’ll also tuck an EnviroCloth and Window Cloth somewhere handy. When a mirror gets spotted or there’s a quick mess, I can grab them and use water for that everyday cleanup instead of reaching for a disposable wipe or spray. It’s a small thing, but it makes keeping the room tidy feel easy.
If you keep chemical cleaning products in a room, follow their labels and store them safely away from children and pets. The pieces I leave out are Norwex Microfiber Cleaning and Personal Care items meant for everyday use.
Carry the idea into the holidays
When I’m ready for the holidays, I keep the same approach. Change the colors and textures, bring out the pieces I’ll use, and leave the counters open for cooking, company, and all the other things that happen in December.
I’m picky about what I bring in for the holidays, too. I want towels, cloths, and colors that still feel right in January and February, not something I’ll pack away after three weeks. Deep greens, cranberry, and cozy textures can carry through the whole winter.
The seasonal Norwex towels, cloths, and hand wash can do double duty. They bring a little holiday feeling into a kitchen or guest bath while still having a job to do. Here’s a closer look at the holiday collection and some ideas for using it around the house.

Try this in one room: Clear one surface, add one cozy texture, and choose one useful piece in a seasonal color. Then stop and see how it feels. You can always add more, but you might not need to.
